Your Testimony Is Powerful

Our testimonies are one of the most important parts of being a Christian. Everyone has a different testimony which is the story of how they came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and repentance of the sins that were taking them to Hell.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11

Your testimony can never be taken from you. When the lost hear your testimony they can see where you came from and how the power of Jesus helped you overcome your sin and saved you from Hell. This can help lead them to Jesus.

Some testimonies are much more dramatic than others with people receiving dreams and visions and being saved from “death’s door” and serious addiction and sin. Other testimonies may not be as dramatic but be a simple conviction of sin and believing the Gospel unto salvation. Either way all testimonies are equally important because it is a story of a sinner that was saved from death into life by Jesus. Every testimony is unique and God does it that way to reach different types of people. It is important that we do not exaggerate our testimony. The devil would love for us to be filled with pride over it which would take away from what God has done.

Jesus tells us to share our testimony with our families and friends:

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” Mark 5:19

After telling King Agrippa his testimony of meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus and his dramatic conversion from Christian murderer to Christian evangelist Paul almost convinced King Agrippa to become a Christian:

“28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.29  And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.” Acts 26:28-29

Never be ashamed to tell your testimony to people, The Lord will use it to His glory and it may be the final straw that makes a sinner want to be saved, you never know.

“Come [and] hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.” Psalms66:16
