The Hurting Heart

Sermons
Jeremiah 17: 9 the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Acts 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
Psalm 86:11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Deceit is hidden deep in the heart.  We live our lives thinking all is well, until we get this nudging feeling coming from inside of us, by way of the Holy Spirit.  You hear in your heart, “I need a physician!”  Denial sets in, and it’s the first reaction we want too, or do give to God, when He starts exposing us to the truths about ourselves!  You’re like, “What?  What are you talking about?”  Then you feel like Jacob, when he wrestled with God.  You start to break down, and cry out to God, “Your right my heart is deceitful!  Please forgive me!”  You don’t want this to happen again, so you start seeking out God, with Him helping you every step of the way!  The heart starts feeling better, and you began to feel energized, because you know for certain it is the inner working of the Holy Spirit!  God just gave you one of His perfect gift’s, Him!  AMEN
