The devil Does Not Give Up, But Neither Does God, & Neither Should You!
By: Sis Areeba Futrell
Since the beginning of time the devil’s mission has been to draw people away from God ultimately leading them to hell. He will go to great lengths trying to turn you away from God. He knows exactly what to do, what to say and who to use. He can and will use your friends; family; coworkers; or anybody that is close to you especially if said person has or has had an impact on you.
In 2 Corinthians 11:3 it says “ But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ”.
The devil doesn’t just use people around you but looks to use YOU as well! He uses your own lusts, desires, and emotions to lure you away from righteousness. He tries to get into your head and talk sweet; pleasing words to soothe your itching ears all while planting his seeds of destruction.
On the other hand.. The Lord is powerful, merciful and gracious! He doesn’t just give up on you when you fall into a life of sin, but gives you many many opportunities to come to repentance! He will always send warning before destruction. The Lord uses situations and even certain people in your life to show himself to you, but oftentimes he is ignored. The Lord has kept all sinners and saints under his grace by waking them up each and every day. Blessing us even when we do not deserve it. Showing us that even when we are going through hard times that he is there waiting for us to cry out to him and ask for his forgiveness.
In Joel 2:12-13 it says “ Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning; And render your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth of the evil.”
If the Lord allows us to live despite the fact that we are not fit to live, then why don’t we feel like we owe that very life to him? Many people have to come to the brink of destruction in order to cry out to God, but once God hears them and helps them out of their situation, they give up on him and go back to their wicked ways. I encourage you never to settle for a life of sin! Our time is very limited and we should use every second we have praising God, living the life he commanded us to live in His word, and seeking to please him at all costs. The devil will continue to keep attacking you with all types of techniques but God is bigger and greater and far more powerful than the devil. Repent and live your life for Him and not for your own pleasures and desires.
