Standing In The Gap

Sermons

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.                                                                                                                                                 (Jesus Christ was our perfect pattern to follow which is why Jesus told us to follow Him! When we realize that Jesus is standing in the gap for the church it lets us know we too should stand in the gap for one another too! Some people get so off track in life unless there is divine intervention they will be eternally lost. If Jesus had not interrupted my world that I was living in I would surly end up in hell but thank God for His ability to save!)

Exodus 34:8 Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped.  9“O Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes,” he said, “then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”                                                                                       (The heart of Moses was not to condemn the people for their sin, excuse their sin, justify their sin but humble himself before the Lord and cry out on behalf of the people. If we are going to stand in the gap spiritually for the people God puts in our life we will also have to humble our self. Remember God resist the proud and we can help others if God is resisting us!)

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.                                                          (Unless we have the Holy Spirit leading us and guiding we will never be able to properly stand in the gap. Life deals us all situations that are so great and painful that natural logical words have limitations. Just as Jobs friend tried to comfort him they ended adding more pain to his life. Sometimes the less we say the better and people just need loving person to listen to them. When words fall short our prayer in the name Jesus fill the gaps! )
