Purgatory is another lie from the Roman Catholic Church that keeps people in bondage. Many people are counting on going to Purgatory when they die because they loved their sin in this life so much and never wanted to repent. They figure if they have fun now they can just pay for a little while in Purgatory then eventually get into Heaven after their relatives pray for them, get Catholic masses said for them and indulgences. After all it is not like they murdered someone or were “as bad as Hitler” so no worry about going to Hell.
Jesus does not mention Purgatory here or ever, it is Heaven or Hell: “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” Matthew 25:46
Catholic Catechism 1030 states: “All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.”
The Bible says: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
If we repent of our sins and are walking in the light, Jesus already purified us there is no need for Purgatory. It was a scam for the Catholic Church to be able to sell indulgences so people could pay for their relatives to have shorter stays in Purgatory or do other idolatrous practices to make Purgatory easier and finish faster.
Catholic Catechism 1479 says: “Since the faithful departed now being purified are also members of the same communion of saints, one way we can help them is to obtain indulgences for them, so that the temporal punishments due for their sins may be remitted.”
It is extortion and also blasphemous to teach that anyone on earth could play any part in purifying a soul to enter Heaven, it was one way the Catholic Church got so rich. When someone dies they go to either Heaven or Hell. You are either purified by the Blood of Jesus or you are not. Was what Jesus went through on the cross not enough?
“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” Hebrews 10:14
The Bible is clear, and Jesus is clear. Who do you want to follow, traditions of men or the Word of God? How many child molesting priests and bishops figure they may just do some time in Purgatory then get to Heaven eventually? There is no such thing as enjoying a life full of sin and making a pit stop in Purgatory to pay for it.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19
Jesus says you must be born again to enter into God’s Kingdom, not a Roman Catholic. He never says you have to do some time in Purgatory. If you are counting on “paying for your own sins” in Purgatory you are going to end up in Hell for sure!
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
