Misunderstanding Jesus

(Some people love Jesus, some hate Jesus and some misunderstand Jesus. What ever category we find ourselves in we always have room to grow spiritually.)

Matthew 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!                                      (Often we believe God will or can do great things in the life of others but we have trouble believing God will or wants to do great things in our own life. The disciples had Jesus already in the boat with them but they failed to see His deity in the storm. Any time we take our eyes of the solution of all storms then we are misunderstanding Jesus. No matter how little your boat is and how big your storm is as long as Jesus is in boat that’s all that matters!)

Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.                                                                                               (Peter failed to understand the greater picture that Jesus was revealing because Peter was blinded by his own pride. Do we feel that God needs our help or we have a better plan then Jesus?)

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.                                                                                                                                            (I do not believe God is calling us to be mindless zombies eating peoples faces off but there is a time to trust God and there is a time to use our intelligence that He gave us. We can not always trust God and use our intelligence at the same time. Father God help us to to trust Jesus in all our ways in Jesus name I pray amen!)
