Humans Get Hurt

Matthew 10:36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

(If your human then it is not a matter of if you get hurt but when you get hurt. Most of the time the devil is going to use those who are physically closest to us. It is often our own family members who tempt us in sin or hurt us emotionally.)

Genesis 45:1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

(Joseph’s brothers caused excruciating pain by throwing him into a well, selling him as a slave and he ended up in prison falsely accused of rape. No matter how hard things got for Joseph we can see he was able to forgive his brothers. Joseph saw the purpose of God in everything that happened to him. After we forgive others then we too will be able to see the purpose of God in all we go through.)

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

(God validates our emotions but judges what we do with our emotions. How doe we react to being molested or watching our family get killed? How are we supposed to feel? God says we have a right to be angry and feel emotions but he never said we have a right to not forgive. Most people with anger problems are simply people who have not surrendered their past hurt to Jesus. Some people hold on to the pain and relive the offense over and over. Others self medicate their pain by using drugs, sexual sin, loving money and hurting others the same way they got hurt. That self medication only creates new pain and makes the situation worse. God wants us to be healed in Jesus name. Once we forgive others then the healing process will start. Forgiving does not mean we agree with the wrong, it does not mean we will let them do it again and it does not mean the pain will go away immediately. Humans get hurt but Christians get healed!)
