God’s Chariots of Fire

Sometimes as Christians walking in obedience to God we can feel all alone in the world but not realize what is going on around us in the supernatural. There is spiritual warfare every single day in the believer’s life and we may not be aware of it or able to see into the supernatural but God does send His angels to protect us from certain things.

The Prophet Elisha was being hunted by the Syrians and Elisha’s servant became worried when he saw the Syrians closed in on them and encompassed the city and called to Elisha asking him what to do. Elisha responded:

“16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:16-17

Elisha then prayed that the Lord would smite the Syrians with blindness and God blinded them and they were able to be taken captive and then sent away out of the land of Israel. It is human nature to fear but we must remember that sometimes we do not see the protection and plan that God has in place to deliver us out of trouble. Elisha’s servant needed his eyes to be opened by God to see into the supernatural. We have to trust God and walk in faith.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
