God Always Shows Us The Way

Sermons

God always makes a way for His people and when we choose to go God’s way we are saved from destruction. God created a way for the cornered Israelites to escape the Egyptian Army by splitting the Red Sea, God told Moses:  bridge

But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:16

If the Israelites did not follow the way God provided they would have been overtaken by the Egyptians and it would have ended in death. In our lives God gives us escape routes from temptation to avoid being overtaken by sin, which brings death:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

By following Jesus we have the perfect escape route provided by God to save us from sin and Hell. Jesus tells us that He is the only way to the Father and Salvation:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

But unfortunately many people believe they have it all figured out and will do things “their way” by following whatever feels right to them. The Bible says:

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12

We need to follow the ways that God has given us. If the Israelites did not, they would have died. If we do not follow the way that God gave us which is Jesus and Him alone we will go to Hell. Jesus tells us most people follow their own way and will end up there.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

God is very loving and cares for us that is why throughout history He was always showing us the way we should go. But He never forces us to go that way and gives us a choice. Don’t you think that the Creator of everything knows better than we do which way to go?
